All right then this works. Damien and I, having realized that were both badly out if shape lately, have challenged each other to do something with the remaining 100 days in the year. Today is day 2. Yesterday, I rode my bike six miles and today I did nothing.

I realize that sound bad, but you have to understand that I'm working two jobs ad running on little sleep each night. I might try to get a jog in tomorrow, but I'll start things in earnest on Monday. It's on, Damien.

Post to my blog from my phone. If so, it'll make keeping up with blogging much easier.

What? Fitness?!

This past weekend was a busy one for me. My girlfriend was out of town, and one of my friends was in. Damien, Magus, ShadowRaptor and I spent the whole weekend being geeks, which is fun. Needless to say, I ate mostly crap and exercised none. I woke up late today and had to spend the majority of the time I have before work cleaning up. I managed to get in some pushups today. That's about it.

Three sets of max, with 80 seconds rest between, 46-16-16
The first set was good. I rarely get about 40. 46 is my max. Almost half-way to 100! The other sets, not so good. Ah well.

Well Well....

Okay, so by now, its obvious that I'm horrible at keeping up with my posting. As with most things, I'll work to correct that.

Just a quick update. I have been much more active as of late, getting in cardio at least three time a week, as long as my shins hold up, and I've been hitting the gym and pool everyday this week.

That is all.

Bad

I've been horrible with keeping up with this and fitness in general. I'll be going to the YMCA to get a membership as soon as I can afford it. In the mean time, I'll record my work out as I do it.

3x12 Super Man

3x12 (55lbs approx) shoulder shrugs

3x12 (55lbs approx) Shoulder Press

3x12 (15lbs) lateral raises

3x12 (15lbs) front raises

I then did my pushups, as follows:

Perform inline push ups in alternation with decline pushups. Only half the movement should be used. When performing the inline pushups the hand should not be on the floor. They should be on two sets of books or objects 3-6 inches high. The feet should be on the chair. Only lower half of the movement should be performed. (Head touching the floor to elbows right angle. Elbows should not extend past the right angle. They should not approach the straight line.) This is very important. 40% of the total maximum per set. Decline push ups is done with feet on the floor and hands on the chair. Only the upper part of the movement. (Elbow right angle to hands straight.) 60% of maximum set. Stop when the second set fails.

This added up to just shy of six sets and 120 pushups. I got to 19 on the final set. (My max is about 40, so 40% is 16, 60% is 24)

Don't know if I'll do cardio today... I went for a 20 minute jog yesterday, trying to coax my shins into behaving. I don't want to overdo and be crippled again... hmm maybe I'll go for a bike ride. Not sure where to, though... hmm.

Fitness for the last three days

Wednesday, I finally got may act together, and went for a run, from my place to Main St and back, just under 4km. Two hours later, my girlfriend came home and wanted to go for a bike ride, so I jogged along side her, doing pretty much the same route, for a total of just under 9km that day.

Yesterday, my girlfriend and I went for a ride/jog out to Dam Park and back, about 3km total. I then did my pushups, same as last week, with some slightly better results.

Today, I did a 12km circuit on my bike from my place to the top of Hespeler and back down Franklin.

This is all well and good, but I need to start focusing on muscle strength again. As of Monday, I'll be trying to kick myself to bike to Conestoga so I can have access to the weights there.

As a side note, I did something to my left arm last night at work, and lifting any more than five pounds hurts. I think I'll take the weekend to recover. Should be good enough.
